Denmark is widely regarded as leading the way in Europe in district heating and has over forty years experience of developing large scale community heat networks. The event, jointly organised by the Danish embassy and the Town and Country Planning Association to promote investment in district heating in the UK, brought together industry experts from both sides of the North Sea to explore the potential for closer collaboration in the delivery of district heating in the UK. Speakers included Stephen Brooks who is leading the new team in DECC charged with scaling up the delivery of heat networks.
