Covid-19 – an update from ThamesWey

Many of you will experience financial challenges during the Pandemic. For example, you may have had to close your business or have lost some or all of your income while you self-isolate or are placed on furlough. If this applies to you it is important that you please contact ThamesWey before you change any payments. Our teams are available on the phone or by e-mail if you think you are going to struggle to make payments and will work with you to come to an arrangement. There is a range of support available to you, including arranging delayed payment plans (including deferred payments and payment holidays) with us and seeking advice and support from local government. Please do not ignore the situation as your debts will accumulate if unpaid, it is important that we work together to agree affordable payment plans that reduce this burden on you when the Pandemic passes.

Energy

Our energy division was created to drive the long term strategy of sustainable energy infrastructure investment within the borough and beyond, with a view to achieving significant reductions in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. We do this through the generation, distribution and supply of sustainable, low-carbon and renewable energy to public, commercial and domestic users in our borough and beyond.

Operating since 1999, we have significant experience in the development, delivery and management of low-carbon decentralised energy to around 100 public and private sector customers in and around the borough and in Milton Keynes, and nearly 1200 domestic users, with those numbers set to increase over the coming years.

We are able to bring the generation of low carbon energy into the heart of communities. We have been at the cutting edge of localised energy production for more than 18 years, supplying residential and commercial customers through our combined heat and power (CHP) installations, as well as renewable solar power generated through our photovoltaic (PV) installations across the borough.

All of our customers are provided with efficiently generated electricity and heat generated through low carbon technologies. Our energy centres run highly efficient CHP engines to deliver power and hot water for heating, typically 50% more efficiently than conventional power and heat generation can achieve separately.

Our capabilities include the design, build management and maintenance of community energy networks, from initial studies, right through to metering, billing, maintenance and customer services.
