Help for Woking residents with energy costs and home improvements

Woking residents living in hard-to-heat properties may be able to access fully funded energy efficiency improvements through active government schemes, including the Warm Homes Local Grant.

In line with Woking Borough Council’s sustainability strategy, we support initiatives that aim to address fuel poverty and help improve the energy efficiency of homes across the borough.

Qualifying home owners and private tenants may be able to receive free installations, including loft and cavity wall insulation, draught-proofing, solar panels and battery storage, and air source heat pumps. Installing loft and cavity wall insulation alone can save an average semi-detached household over £200 a year on heating costs, as well as reducing the risk of cold-related illnesses.

Who can apply?

Woking residents living in a property with an energy performance rating of D to G, who are on low income or in receipt of means-tested benefits, may qualify. Funding is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis so it is worth checking your eligibility as soon as possible.
