Introduction

ThamesWey Ltd and all its subsidiaries are committed to upholding ethical business practices and to playing our part in eliminating modern slavery and human trafficking. We have a zero-tolerance approach towards any form of modern slavery within our organisation and across our supply chain, and we expect everyone working with us or on our behalf to share and uphold that commitment.

This statement is made in accordance with Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and covers the financial year ending 31 March 2026.

Our Organisation and Structure

ThamesWey Ltd is a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales (company number 03702545), wholly owned by Woking Borough Council. We operate solely within the United Kingdom, primarily in Woking and the surrounding areas of Surrey.

Our business activities are carried out through a number of subsidiaries, including ThamesWey Housing Limited, ThamesWey Energy Limited, ThamesWey Developments Limited, and ThamesWey Guest Houses Limited. Our activities span the ownership and letting of residential properties across Woking and the surrounding areas of Surrey, energy provision and sustainability services, and property development.

Our Supply Chain

Our supply chain consists principally of contractors and suppliers who provide goods and services in support of our housing management, property maintenance, and energy operations. These suppliers are predominantly UK-based businesses. Given the domestic nature of our operations and supply chain, we consider our overall exposure to modern slavery risk to be relatively low. However, we recognise that low risk does not mean no risk, and we remain vigilant.

Our Policies

We maintain an Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy which applies to all ThamesWey employees, contractors, and anyone working on our behalf. This policy sets out our commitment to identifying and preventing modern slavery and makes clear the standards we expect from those we work with.

Due Diligence and Risk Management

We take the following steps to identify and manage the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chain:

  • We engage only with reputable contractors and suppliers and consider ethical business practice as part of our supplier selection process.
  • We periodically review our supplier and contractor approval procedures to identify areas for improvement.
  • We encourage all staff, contractors, and third parties to report any concerns about modern slavery or human trafficking, and these can be raised confidentially through our internal reporting channels.
Training and Awareness

All ThamesWey employees are required to complete training on business compliance, including modern slavery awareness, when they join the organisation and annually thereafter. This training covers how to recognise the warning signs of modern slavery and how to identify, respond to, and report suspicious activity.

Effectiveness

We keep our approach to modern slavery under review and will continue to assess and improve our procedures on an ongoing basis. No instances of modern slavery or human trafficking were identified within our organisation or supply chain during the year ending 31 March 2026.
