As a major local generator serving Milton Keynes, Thameswey was invited by the local electricity distributor Western Power Distribution (WPD) , to take part in its Project FALCON.  The project is testing new ways of operating local electricity supply grids to reduce the strain on networks at peak times. The project aims to help the development of ‘Smart Grids’ that can contribute to a lower carbon electricity network.

Thameswey is using its CHP engines to increase the supply of electricity into the local grid in Milton Keynes at times of peak demand. Funding for the project is being provided by Ofgem’s Low Carbon Networks Fund.  More information is available at http://www.westernpowerinnovation.co.uk/
