About Thameswey

Thameswey was established in 1999 by Woking Borough Council. As an Energy and Environmental Services Company, Thameswey provide effective solutions across both public and private sectors to meet the ambitious carbon reduction targets laid out in the Council’s Climate Change Strategy.

Company Structure

Thameswey is a wholly owned subsidiary of Woking Borough Council and is the parent company to a number of subsidiary companies which each assist to deliver the key components of the Thameswey business strategy;

  • Thameswey Energy is responsible for the delivery of low carbon energy generation to customers connected to energy centres operated by Thameswey.
  • Woking Borough Homes is a second wholly-owned subsidiary of Thameswey, which assists in the delivery of Woking Borough Council’s housing targets.
  • ECSC is an energy consultancy with over 25 years experience in offering expert sustainable energy advice and services to clients across many sectors including local government and the built environment.

Governance

The Thameswey board is responsible for the strategic direction of the group of companies and reports directly into the Executive Committee of Woking Borough Council.

Key Objectives

  • Make facilities and services available for its customers and customers of companies in which it holds an interest.
