To date, Action Surrey has enabled more than 2,750 energy‑efficiency improvements, preventing an estimated 2,000 tCO₂ from entering the atmosphere every year. The service is delivered by ThamesWey on behalf of ten district and borough councils and Surrey County Council, ensuring consistent support across the region.

Advice, Installers and Funding Support

Trained advisers help residents understand the best options for their homes – from insulation and heating upgrades, to renewable technologies such as solar PV. Through Action Surrey, households can access a network of trusted, local installers experienced in delivering:

• Loft and wall insulation
• Efficient boilers and heating systems
• Solar PV and solar thermal
• Other renewable and low‑carbon technologies

The team also assesses eligibility for grant funding, helping low‑income households secure financial support for essential improvements such as insulation or boiler replacements.

The Action Surrey team is also able to determine whether a household is eligible for grant funding to contribute towards installing loft and wall insulation or replacing broken boilers.

Green Jump Surrey – Delivering Surrey’s Largest Domestic Retrofit Programme

In 2020, Action Surrey led a successful consortium bid for £6.2 million of Government funding through the Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery scheme. The resulting Green Jump Surrey programme became the largest domestic retrofit project ThamesWey has delivered.

The scheme offered fully funded measures to low‑income households, including:

• External wall insulation
• Air‑source heat pumps
• Solar thermal systems
• Additional fabric and heating upgrades

Green Jump Surrey significantly improved the energy performance of participating homes, reduced carbon emissions and helped residents manage rising energy costs – demonstrating the scale and impact Action Surrey can deliver when supported by national funding.
