Work is underway to connect Woking’s newest office development to ThamesWey’s heat, cooling and electricity networks. Victoria Gate, a major refurbished office building for Aviva, has been connected to the low carbon energy supplies generated at the town centre energy station in Victoria Way. The work has involved the installation of new district heat and cooling pipes connecting into the network that runs under Victoria Way.

This connection has required careful planning and co-ordination in order to minimise disruption whilst other highways improvement works are underway in Woking town centre.   Woking Borough Council and Surrey County Council are working together to make a number of streetscape improvements ahead of the Victoria Square scheme. This has also provided the opportunity for ThamesWey to install its district heat pipes in Chertsey Road in advance of new connections planned for next year.
